October 2019

September flew by and we've just had our three busiest weeks ever in the clinic! With your continued support, we are working on making more appointment times available throughout the week.

It's now easier to see and book all upcoming sound meditation classes with Sally. They are booking out, so now there's a way to get your tickets in advance.

The current exhibition on our walls is by talented Melbourne artist Alison Russell. Her works are so detailed, don't be shy to see them up close when you're in the clinic. Our artworks are available for purchase and we are happy to introduce you to the artist.

Alison Russell: Meditations on Paper

Alison Russell’s abstract imaginary landscapes merge the internal and external worlds and explore the subconscious.

Her intricate drawings of ambiguous otherworldly themes reference nature’s patterns and textures suggesting underwater worlds, forests and biomorphic forms while evoking curiosity and wonder.

Your First Visit

Relax, you're in good hands

ACU FITZ is a community acupuncture clinic created and managed by Ping Ming Health, one of Australia’s most trusted clinics dedicated to the professional practice of Chinese medicine since 1992.

From the moment you arrive, you'll see that we've gone to great lengths to create a space where you can relax and feel at home.

What is community acupuncture?

Community acupuncture is a clinic where acupuncture treatments take place in a very relaxing and comfortable group setting. It's a way of experiencing the benefits of acupuncture at a much lower cost than a private session.

Everyone at ACU FITZ receives an individual consultation and personalised acupuncture treatment during each visit.

Community acupuncture empowers people to take better care of their health by making preventative treatments more affordable and easily accessible.

Apart from the benefit of very affordable treatments, community acupuncture also offers a more social treatment experience that's missing from the "behind closed doors" approach of how we receive healthcare today.

  • Affordable treatments.
  • Friendly and inclusive group setting.
  • Friends and family can receive treatment together at the same time.
  • Treatments take place while you relax in an armchair.

What should I wear?

There's no need to get undressed for community acupuncture or meridian massage. Please come wearing suitable loose clothing so that your arms, legs, hands and feet can be easily exposed while you are sitting in an armchair.

Is it private?

Being treated in a shared space means that you may be seen and overheard by others who are receiving treatment at the same time. There is no need to undress as only your arms and legs are exposed during treatment.

If you feel uncomfortable about this then community acupuncture may not be suitable for you. Remember, you don't have to tell your practitioner anything that you prefer to keep private.

Did you know? This shared-room model is how patients receive acupuncture in some of the largest hospitals in China today.

How much does it cost?

Our aim is to be a self-sustainable community clinic that provides an affordable and quality acupuncture experience for everyone.

First visit Initial assessment with acupuncture and/or meridian massage $70
Return visits Acupuncture or meridian massage $35
Combined acupuncture and meridian massage $70

What can we help with?

ACU FITZ treatments are practiced according to traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis and treatment principles. Our practitioners assess and treat the imbalances in your internal organ systems and acupuncture channels to bring your body back into balance.

Acupuncture for pain relief

ACU FITZ is especially good at providing fast and effective treatments to relieve pain. We can help with most types of pain conditions from injuries to chronic pain management.

For more serious cases, our experienced practitioners may refer you to your GP for a check up, or advise you when we think that more extensive Chinese medicine treatment may be beneficial for your condition.

Acupuncture for stress

Since stress goes hand-in-hand with many health problems, we also offer a de-stress treatment if you'd like to wind down after a busy day or week.

Acupuncture is a very relaxing experience because your body produces plenty of natural feel-good endorphins while you rest.

If you prefer consultations in a private clinic setting, please contact our parent clinic Ping Ming Health.

ACU FITZ offers a high quality experience of healing that's accessible to everyone.

Longevity studies have shown that the healthiest, happiest and longest-lived people all over the world have in common a strong sense of purpose and community.

Instead of the status quo of practicing medicine behind closed doors, our clinic is designed to bring people closer together through the shared experience of healing.

Join us to create a community clinic like no other.

ACU FITZ offers a space for everyone who has something to share:

  • Practitioners of all kinds who want to teach meditation, tai chi, qi gong or yoga on our heated tiles.
  • Artists, musicians and performers looking for an intimate space to share their talents.
  • Teachers and mentors who need a space for talks, lessons, workshops and meetings.
  • Volunteers who can help us to plan and organise events, or to help our practitioners get through a busy day.
